Baby Brother...39 Weeks!!!

We've had a great morning! (Well, I have...James is still SO SICK. He's pitiful.) I have on REAL clothes and makeup. Not yoga pants. :) I left the house today for the first time since Monday! Woohoo! My doctor's appointment went well. We went to Target (although, I didn't find the cute little Converse that I was looking for for James' Valentine's Day gift...the colors were wrong). AND I just stuffed my face on the most delicious lunch from Panera and James was asleep so I didn't have to share. :) Is that terrible or what???

I am 39 weeks, 2 days pregnant! WOOHOO. I actually can't believe I have made it this long. I was CONVINCED that I was going to have an early baby this time around. I'm not sure why, but I had a feeling. Obviously, that's not a concern anymore!

My appointment this week was later than normal...but it was my LAST appointment. I will show up at the hospital to be induced next week if I don't have him between now and then. I was still 3 cm dilated like last week. The midwife saw me today because my regular doctor is out of town but she mentioned that I may have a baby this weekend. We'll see! I'm sort of set on the other "birth" day that they gave me, though. Guess I have no control...his birthday has already been picked out by someone else! If I don't have him before his "birth" day I'll go to the hospital early next week and get things rolling! It has been mentioned many, many times that this will likely be a very quick delivery! I am hoping it is also uneventful and pain free. :) I can dream, right?
We are SO ready to meet him!

Size of the Baby: A watermelon! He’s probably between 18.9-20.9 inches and 6.2-9.2 pounds. Obviously, it varies at this point. James was 8.2 pounds and 21 inches

Total Weight Loss/Gain: +12 pounds.

Gender: Another boy!

Movement: Yes! He’s running out of room so no more jabs, kicks, and punches, but he’s still rolling all around. He’s still trying to push and stretch. Little legs must be getting cramped.

Cravings: I don’t have any real cravings. I’ve wanted lots and lots and lots of water lately. Diet Coke tastes bad most of the time, but I like anything that’s a clear soda – Sprite, etc. Fresca! Sugar, sugar, sugar. Fortunately, eating all of this sugar, sugar, sugar hasn’t made me feel too bad.

Symptoms: I’m VERY uncomfortable. I have also had reflux from you-know-where this week. It has been horrible. One night I thought I might have to sleep sitting up and another night I woke up with horrible reflux. Yuck.

Sleep: SO hard to fall asleep these days. I toss and turn (which isn’t easy) and huff and puff until I finally wear myself out. I’m usually up until 1 or 2 AM. No fun.

What I Miss: Bending over without hurting myself. Tying my shoes on top instead of the side (HA!). Confession: Eddie’s been tying them for me when he’s home. If James could tie, I’d enlist his help as well! Breathing normally.

Best Moment This Week: James’ Big Brother outing!

And just for fun, this boy perked up at the end of my appointment and wanted to have his baby checked out, too:

How exciting! You look great! Have you read about induction when there is no medical reason? It can sometimes cause complications or increase the risk of c-section. If he is comfy & safe, maybe you can get your doctor to let you wait for him to come naturally.
