Will at Six Months...

My BABY is six months old. Halfway to a year. How in the world did that happen?!?

Unfortunately, we didn't have good luck with pictures this month. The blurry ones are the ones where he's not blinking.

He is absolutely a joy and a delight to be around!

At six months, Will:

* is 19 pounds which puts him in the 75th percentile for weight. (16 pounds, 11.5 ounces at four months...James was 20.2 pounds.)

* is 27.25 inches which puts him in the 75th percentile for height. (25.5 inches at four months...James was 28 inches.)

* He's wearing 6-9 months or 12 month clothing. He's actually fitting in a lot of things that James wore when he was older. I guess because I dry everything?

* His tear duct is still clogged. I didn't even mention it today. It is what it is and he's said they won't do anything about it until 9 months anyway so we'll wait until November.

* He's on a decent schedule. I'm sure this will get better when James goes to school. He typically wakes between 8-9 AM. He eats, then plays. Around 10:30 he's tired so he goes down for a nap and snoozes until around 12. He eats 3 hours after the first meal of the day. He naps again mid-afternoon and then is usually up for the rest of the day. He likes to have babyfood around 5 or 6 and then take a bath, nurse, and go to bed for the night. He wakes up once or twice in the middle of the night to nurse but I'm really, really going to try to be strong and drop these. (At 19 pounds do you REALLY need two middle-of-the-night snacks? I think not.)

* He's still in a size 3 diaper.

This is what his pitiful eye looks like most of the time. I did wipe it good after I took this so you'll notice it's pretty red in some of the pictures.

* Still chewing on everything in sight and drooling up a storm but no teeth yet!

* He loves to take a bath! I bathed him yesterday before his doctor's appointment and he laughed as I poured water on his head.

* Loves to be on the floor and loves to roll around!

* He's sitting up like a champ now. He definitely still needs to work on the muscle tone (he's like his mama!) but I can sit him down and walk away and he'll stay sitting for several minutes. Occasionally he'll lose his balance, but usually only if he reaches for something.

* He loves to put his paci in, take it out, put it in, take it out.

* He has wubbie love just like James. They could both live with their blankets over their faces all the time.

* He's getting up on his hands and knees and rocking but hasn't started crawling yet. He scoots backwards and will occasionally propel himself forward, but he can't be classified as a crawler yet!

* He's tried rice cereal (love!), oatmeal (yuck!), apples (love!), pears (they're ok), and peaches (just ok). We've been given the green light to add in some veggies as well. I think we'll start with sweet potatoes and go from there. So far the fruit has all been homemade (well, home-pureed...not home-grown).

James on top, Will on bottom. Don't tell me they look alike. They look NOTHING alike to me!

He really is the sweetest thing. I think I have a shy one this go 'round. He's started showing some mama attachment. I have to say that I am loving this part as James is a little anti-mama at times. :) I can't believe he's six months old!!!

I swear this is not this child's personality! Hilarious, though!
