Spring has sprung around these parts! Our Bradford Pears have gone from bare to buds to blossoms and almost to beautiful leaves in the past two weeks! The weather has been (for the most part) warm and I'm ready to open the windows and air the house out!
I've spent the morning cleaning out my master bedroom closet. Old clothes are being given away, fall/winter clothes are being boxed up and put in the attic, and spring/summer clothes are being organized in my closet. The same goes for shoes and bags. Overall, by the end of the day, my side of the closet will be clean and organized and will stay that way for approximately one week. I've never been good at an organized closet.
I'm sure I'll spend the weekend doing some sort of cleaning. We're staying here this weekend and don't have any plans so I'm sure one of us will be working on the yard and garage and the other will be scrubbing the house. And the little one will spend his time either jumping, napping, eating, or sitting in his stroller outside.
Something else I've started this week - eating my vegetables. I'm not a huge fan of many different types of veggies. I'll eat a salad (covered in dressing - usually mayonaisse-based), I'll eat steamed carrots, I eat the starchy-veggies, but I don't like raw, low-calorie types. I'd seen on several other blogs (including Bess' - Hi Bess!) that people are hiding their vegetables these days. Even Jessica Seinfeld has a hidden-veggie cookbook. (It's supposed to be about cooking for your kids, but I need it, too!) So this week, I've turned over a new leaf, literally. I'm eating spinach (which I do like when it's covered with something) in a smoothie for lunch. I haven't changed anything else. Just eating a delicious, low-calorie, low-sugar smoothie at lunchtime. I'll let you know if my efforts pay off. I'm hoping they will. I was one of the lucky ones as I was able to lose ALL of my pregnancy weight in record time - like three weeks. However, I had about 15 pounds to lose prior to getting pregnant AND pregnancy caused everything to become doughy and bleh. It needs LOTS of work. So that's one thing I'm doing. Wish me luck!
