BooMama's DipTacular!

Today is going to be a post-filled day. There are two real reasons for that. #1 - I said earlier in the week that I'd post some pictures on TUESDAY and it is now FRIDAY. Whoops. #2 - I spoke too soon earlier in when I said that nesting did not come naturally. However it comes, it comes and my house is sparkly clean and my back is killing me. Today is my day off. So there.

Over at BooMama's she's holding a DipTacular celebration because it's the first college football weekend of the season! Woohoo! Eddie was out of town until almost ten last night so The Boy and I had to watch the South Carolina/North Carolina State game all by ourselves. Apparently I have another football fan on my hands because this little boy was doing all kinds of flips and kicks in my belly. He's really excited to be born during football season and that he has several University of Georgia outfits washed and hanging in his closet already! Go Dawgs!

Ok, let me get on with my recipe for those of you who aren't my mama. I haven't tailgated much in the past few years since I've graduated from college. I'm normally the brownies girl, but now that we tailgate more at home, I've branched out into all kinds of delicious appetizers. I think I'll post two of my very favorites!

Heath Bar Apple Dip

1 8oz bar of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 bag of Heath Bar bits (you can also just crunch up the candy bar on your own!)
apple wedges

1. Cream together cream cheese, sugars, and vanilla.
2. Stir in Heath Bar bits.
3. Serve with apples. (Cut apples into pineapple juice to keep from browning.) When apples are gone, resort to putting your finger into the bowl. For an even greater last-resort measure, pick bowl up and lick remaining dip until it is gone. No, really...really.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded OR 1 large can of chicken breast meat
1 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
1/2 bottle of Frank's Original Hot Wing Sauce
Ranch or blue cheese dressing
1 1/2-2 cups mozzarella

1. Cook and shred chicken or open can and shred chicken.
2. In an 8-9 in. square pan, spread softened cream cheese.
3. In a small bowl, mix hot sauce and shredded chicken. Spread on top of cream cheese.
4. Pour as much ranch/blue cheese over the chicken mixture as you'd like.
5. Top with mozzarella.
6. Bake at 350* for about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve hot with Tostitos.
