Belated Christmas Home Tour.

It just occurred to me as I began taking Christmas decorations down that I never did a home tour this year. It is almost midnight and I'm NOT restaging the house for an official tour, so this is what you get this year. My house was never 100% clean (hello, children!) and we seriously still aren't officially unpacked and moved in. I have high hopes to complete that SOON now that the holiday hustle and bustle is OVER.

All lit up outside. I just put a wreath on the door and added my lit topiaries outside. I do have a garden flag and three Christmas stakes out in the flower bed, but they were nothing extraordinary. Hoping to have the front porch looking a little more homey by next Christmas.

This note to Santa graced our front door for about two weeks.

Our dining room tree is my Twelve Days of Christmas tree. I just have so many ornaments for that theme that a few years ago I decided to give it its own space. It turned out okay, but next year it will hopefully have it looking a little prettier. The garland was an after thought and I ran out. I need to look for some big ribbon. I'm also trying to add (slowly) the pieces of the song (like seven swans hidden around the tree or twelve drums, etc.). That will take a while to complete, for sure!

This is our main tree in our den. I put it up before Eddie had a chance to add the last three shelves to our built-ins. Whoops! This is a new tree this year and I wound up LOVING it. I was nervous. We needed a slim in our den and going from 9 feet to 7.5 feet AND taking away from the diameter of it seemed like a HUGE change, but I love how it turned out. I never did get a topper on it. Because it's our family tree it has a REALLY eclectic collection of ornaments which is just how I like it. Each ornament either MEANS something or was given to me by someone special (or in the case of the boys - made for me).

Our playroom was dressed up this year. We had our Georgia tree that James has had every year. We put the Polar Express around it and it ran approximately ten minutes throughout December. Will is entirely too young for a train around a tree. Maybe next year. The helmet topper on this tree was new this year and I LOVED it. It totally made the tree.

The boys' room also got a few decorations.

These lights are going on a screened porch tree next year (there's no furniture out there so there wasn't any point this year - but NEXT year!!!). They are my FAVORITE kind of lights and so fun for a kid room. I just pulled them out and threw them up there for a few days.

And we started a nutcracker collection this year sort of by accident. Because what does a kid with a tree nut allergy need? A nutcracker collection, of course! LOL!

So there you have it! I had more out, but that's most of it! Maybe next year I'll get it up and cleaned away earlier and can take better pictures. Hope y'all had a VERY Merry Christmas!
