Will and I had a date to the pediatrician's office this morning. Somebody was his normal busy self and I was sweating by the time we left from trying to hold him in my lap and keep him from destroying the place while we were there!
{Lights on, lights off, lights on, lights off.}
Will weighs 25 pounds, 1 ounce and is 33 1/4 inches. Big boy! 75th percentile for weight and 90th for height! He's about 11 ounces smaller than James was at this age but a whole inch taller! James has never rocked the charts for height.
It has been so easy to compare Will to James. At this age James' vocabulary was ridiculous. It still is. He talks to grown ups like he's a grown up. Will has just never been all that interested in words. He has between 15-20 that you'd be able to understand, but he doesn't use them all the time and if you ask him to repeat a word sometimes he may, sometimes he may not. He certainly knows how to communicate, though! Boy can tell you what he wants! Dr. Wade was not at all concerned that his vocabulary isn't as large as James' was. No biggie!
He is ahead on other milestones just from watching James. He's recently become very interested in using the potty so we're introducing it, but not pushing it. He's also been riding scooter toys for months and months (since around Easter I think - before he was even walking) and that's a two-year-old skill. Gotta keep up with brother!
He's a much better eater and sleeper than James EVER has been and he's so much braver than James. He's hilarious in a swimming pool! (And also a little dangerous!)
He had to have his last immunization until he's four today. (Oh, I am dreading those in a few months with James!) I laid him down, gave him his paci, and when the nurse stuck him he looked at her and said, "Oww!" but that was it! No tears and as soon as I picked him up he was all smiles and chattering away again. He did tell me "Ow!" all through Target as he pointed to his bandaid.

Will is definitely becoming our funny little wild child. James is a rule-following, cautious, serious kid (he is hilarious, though) and Will has turned from the laid-back, shy child into a laid-back, loud, temperamental, funny, BUSY boy!
We are so sad that this was our last check up with Dr. W. We have been with him since James was born and we LOVE him, but we're going to have to find a new doctor. His office is just a bit too far from our house. I sure hate it because he is so laid-back and not a worrier at all and really calms me down about issues that I thought were a big deal but maybe just aren't. We'll miss him!
{We arrived 30 minutes early and that would have been perfection except for the boy in the backseat screaming. Goodness gracious.}

I dont think I have ever been 30 minutes early to anything in my life...and surely not to something before the hour of 11 am. Glad his check went well!
