I keep meaning to post our favorite items for baby's first three months but now that we're almost two months PAST that, I thought I'd just include everything that we've loved baby-wise these first few months. This time around has been a bit different from our experience with James. For one, James was a little more high maintenance than Will. Partly our fault, partly his personality, it took a lot of stuff to keep James happy. Second, we just know a little better this time. We're a little less stressed. I know that I had scented poop bags for dirty diapers with James. (I just went back and re-read this and read "poop-scented bags" in my head. Y'all. They are Arm 'N Hammer BAKING SODA SCENTED bags for dirty diapers. HAHAHA! Sorry!) I haven't even broken out the first one with James. Just find the nearest outside trashcan and toss. Don't make it harder on yourself than it already is. Ha! So all that being said, here's what has worked for US this time around.
1. The Nap Nanny. A little expensive, we could not be more pleased with this purchase. Probably our favorite buy for our second baby. He slept here for the first two months and still occasionally sleeps or naps on it.
2. A swing. We have a big cradle swing and we have a travel swing that was gifted to us. We hauled the travel swing from here to yonder with James because that's how he slept. This time around I think we've taken it with us and left it in the car twice. We use it at home all the time (he's asleep in the travel swing in the den right now), just not as much on the road. The cradle swing below is similar to the one I bought three years ago.
3. A jumpy. Get yourself one. That little one wants to be able to see what's going on. Will doesn't love it as much as his brother, but he still is entertained for a good bit in it. It allows me to have some baby-free time to get chores done or do something with James.
4. The Bumbo. I know everyone isn't a fan of these. James hardly ever sat in it. If I'm being totally honest, Mr. Chubbs was too fat to fit for long. Will has enjoyed it. James keeps him thoroughly entertained while he's in it.
5. A baby tub. I don't have a preference on this. Ours is a cheap-0 that I requested with James. However, after this weekend and not having one with a baby who doesn't yet sit, I've realized how convenient and necessary it is. Use the sink for a sitting baby.
6. Swaddles. I've used a combination of the Miracle Blanket and the Halo Swaddle Sleepsack. We went with Halo this time simply because our hospital sent us home with one and Will LOVED it. I stopped swaddling when he was almost 3 months because he'd outgrown it but I wish I'd continued.
7. Baby gowns. I LOVE these. Kissy Kissy makes my favorite baby gowns but we also have a variety of Gerber and Circo gowns. They're SO convenient for diaper changes.
8. Sophie the Giraffe. I would buy 10 more of these if it was necessary. This is, hands down, the number one toy in Will's life. He. loves. Sophie. She is the perfect little teething toy. The only downside is that she squeaks the most annoying dog-toy squeak. But I'd still buy her again.
9. A wubbie. Am I the only one who has kids with wubbie love? James told me the other day that he got his wubbie out of his (packed) bag so that he could "wub it on my nose fo-wah dust a minute." (Translation: rub it on my nose for just a minute.) Will is the same way. I allow him to go to sleep with it at night and then I go in and pull it off of his face before I go to bed. Apparently little Fresh boy noses are meant to be rubbed on wubbies. Ha! Go figure. We got Will's two at Hobby Lobby.
10. Double Bob. Eddie has dubbed this the "Million Dollar Ride" or the "MDR." It ain't cheap. However, I have put lots and lots of miles on it and we just love it. It is so smooth! The boys are comfortable and enjoy being in it and that makes getting out and exercising a lot easier. That being said, my one complaint would be that there aren't windows between the two sun shades. James really, really wants to be able to see Will and he can't. Also, this is not a shopping stroller. I can only fit it through my front door. It's too wide to go through any other doors so I can't imagine trying to push this while shopping.
I think that's it. Those are the major things that we've "needed" these first four-and-a-half months. Maybe I'll remember to do this again at nine months!
If you have questions, feel free to ask! (Leave your email address so I can respond!) Not all babies are the same so what works for us may not work for you and vice versa.
All products were found at either Amazon or Target online. I have not been paid to advertise any of these products. These are just things that we love!

Yay! Glad you are loving Bob! ...I laughed about Sophie the giraffe. Lord knows that Champ would have a hay day with her around here!
