My Sweet Valentines!

I thought this morning I'd share pictures of our Valentine's Day instead of a recipe. I know some of you are thanking me that I'm finally posting pictures!

James and I were able to get outside after his afternoon nap! It was beautiful and warm and we both enjoyed playing. I videotaped him while we were outside, too, so I'll try to share that one of these days.

We went out to dinner at a local Asian/Steakhouse. (I've mentioned it before - the owners come from very different backgrounds so they have Asian food on one side of the menu and what you'd see at a steakhouse on the other side!) Eddie had a steak and James and I shared chicken fried rice. Delicious! It was great! We didn't realize (although we probably should have!) that it would be PACKED. Everyone that was there (except us) had a dinner reservation. When we walked in someone called and canceled at the same time so we were able to get a table. We saw lots of people get turned away or have to sit at the bar.

When we got home we all exchanged gifts. James got a hodge-podge goodie bag that had two themes: Mickey and puzzles. Both are an obsession right now. Eddie had the most pitiful Valentine's Day. I gave him a heater for our bathroom (the other has pretty much quit) and dry cleaned shirts. :) Poor boy! The dry cleaned shirts will be a big help so he won't be ironing for the next few weeks. Yes, I said it. I don't iron. He'd have to re-do all of my work. The boys gave me an Amazon gift card that will definitely be put to good use!

After James went to bed I told Eddie that I'd love to have a picture of us. You know how some people can do the "hold the camera out and take a picture" and make it look cute? We are not those people. Before you see the results, let me tell you that A) this is the pitiful point-and-shoot camera, B) it was late, and C) Eddie is not at all photogenic (bless his heart!). I'm not either for that matter, but at least I can hold my eyes open! I chose not to include all of the pictures!

I'm not exaggerating when I say that there were FIFTEEN of these beauties and not one of them had Eddie's eyes all the way open. Not ONE! :) Pitiful. (I'm not sure why my eyes are so super red in the pictures but my contacts were taken out not long after this!) Eddie declared this new "tradition" stupid and that we'd never do it again. Ha!

Our Valentine's Day was wonderful! Hope yours was especially sweet as well!

i'm impressed that eddie let you have that many takes - jeffrey would be done after one shot - he could care less if it is a good one or not - ha!

I know! It hurts my heart that he's really a toddler now and not a baby. (Tantrums and all!!!) We laughed and laughed taking those pictures. He knew every time he'd blinked without even looking! :)
