The Birthday Party...Part III

Those of you from Kelly's Korner, welcome! If you're interested in seeing the other parts of his party, click below. My firned, Bess, took HUNDREDS of pictures so I couldn't pick just a few! I tried to link the post with most of the decorations shown.

Part I
Part II
Part IV
Part V

Saturday morning we got up and at 'em! We had to finish a few things around the house and then clean up. Bess really wanted James to open her gift before the party. She gave him a My Pal Scout and he LOVES it! It says "Hi, James!" He has giggled and giggled at it!

A few more decor pictures:

I LOVED the plasticware wrapped like this. I just tied it with different red and white ribbon that I had and tied a ticket onto that. I got the tickets at Hobby Lobby.

I hate that my picture of this table doesn't have the cake and has a few things out of place. Nevertheless! The lion cookie jar came from Eddie's Grandmama's house (I think) and says "Get your hand outta my cookie jar! Roar!" I put animal crackers in it. I had a vase in the very back with (weird looking) cotton candy. We had various candies displayed. I got the fabric from an Etsy seller and LOVE it.

My balloon wreath was SO much fun to make. I found the idea on HowDoesShe and ran with it. I stuffed my wreath a little fuller than they suggested and wound up going back to the store to buy balloons about 100 times! I want to go into the wreath-making business because it was so fun!

Notice that Bess added the "Celebrate!" by this point. Didn't she do a great job???

The fireplace was a fun project, too! I printed out James' one-eleven month pictures and stuck them in those cute pails. Each picture has the date, his weight, and height. I got the circus tent pinata at Hobby Lobby. The "Celebrate" banner was from the clearance section at Michael's ($2!!!).

James woke up after Cacky, Poppy, Anna, and Lance arrived. Anna got him dressed and ready to party!

I got his outfit off of eBay (*gasp!*) and didn't like it when I first got it in the mail. It had a collared shirt underneath that was piped in matching blue courderoy. The piping made the outfit look REALLY purple-y. It turned out MUCH better with the white t-shirt underneath!

Nancy made the cake for us and we were SO pleased with how it turned out. We had no idea how it would look and we LOVED it! (She also made my wedding cake and Eddie's groom's cake!)

John Michael woke up from his nap and wanted to say hello to the Birthday Boy! (Anna let me borrow her popcorn popper in the background! It was perfect and the popcorn was great!)

I was concerned that my clown noses wouldn't be worn by anyone! Charlie started us off with dressing up!

Then John Michael wanted to try out a nose!

The Ringmaster's top hat was tried on...

I found this at Michael's in the clearance section as well! $2! It turned out to be a hit!

Poor Shrek...I mean, James! Aunt Sassy is SO mean!

Nancy let James have a little taste of his cake before it was time to eat it!

Still don't have your fill of birthday party pictures? Never fear! Part IV will come tomorrow! Ha!

Remind me some time to share with you how Worth and Kate celebrated their first birthdays. Let's just say it was rather understated!

Oh!!! We talked about this on Saturday. Mine consisted of the following decorations: Bear plates, bear cups, bear napkins. Food: birthday cake and Blue Bell ice cream (we lived in Texas). After that we were each taken to the store to pick out our theme. We MIGHT have had streamers! I definitely got carried away. Hard not to seeing all those other cute mama blogs! :)I DID do it all for cheap, though!

We had a carnival party for Jack's second birthday and used a lot of similar ideas. The wreath is my favorite thing I think - I love it!
