A Bump in the Road...

So here's our one little snag...The Boy is sleeping in his swing.

Our little man sleeps pretty darn well at night. I can't complain about that, really. Once he goes down for real (as opposed to the cat-napping he does until about 9:30 or 10) he sleeps in 3-4 hour stretches, wakes up to eat, and goes right back down. The problem is that he's sleeping in his swing.

I've tried swaddling. He doesn't stay swaddled and doesn't much care for it. Maybe I'm using a swaddle-blanket that's too small. I'm thinking of ordering a Miracle Blanket to try out.

When he does go down in his Pack-n-Play he only stays asleep for 30 minutes to an hour. Not the three-hours-at-a-time that we're used to.

I've started to try to get him to nap in the Pack-n-Play or his crib during the day to see if we can build up to sleeping in there at night, but with the number of visitors we've had we can't get any consistent napping pattern down during the day. (And if you've been a visitor, I don't want you to think we don't appreciate you coming by! We do!)

Is consistency key here? What should we do? I know I'm breaking all kinds of rules for having him sleep in his swing, but I just need some sleep at night and that seems to be working for us both! However, I want good, consistent sleeping in a REAL bed for a change! I hope I'm not creating a monster!!!

None of my kids could ever sleep in a pack-in-play. Even now my 20 month old can't. They all loved their cribs and really loved the swing. Do what you need to do to get sleep. That's all I can say.

I also wanted to let you know I have a giveaway on my blog. If it's not the latest post click on the What am I? picture on one of the right sidebars.
