I am pleased to announce the birth of our sweet, beautiful new baby niece, Merritt. I am THRILLED to have a girl to shop for {and Eddie is thrilled to have a girl that we can give back to her mama after we spoil!}. We've called her Minnie Cate for months because we didn't know her real name and it's sort of stuck. She'll probably always be known as Minnie Cate here on the blog, but I did want to share her beautiful real name because it's so sweet. The boys CANNOT remember her real name for the life of them. They are calling her Minnie Cate, Catherine, or Merida. Here's hoping she has curly red hair! ;)
Merritt was born on Monday, September 28th at 5:56 pm. She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. She spent the first few hours of life being very sweet and quiet so it will be interesting to see if she remains quiet or gets a little rowdier like her cousins. HA.
The big boys haven't met her yet, but James already asked if I bought him a "Big Cousin" shirt to wear when he meets her. Uhhhh...I'll get right on that, sir. {Anyone else ever hear of a "Big Cousin" shirt or is it new to everyone?!}
I made it to the hospital mid-afternoon on Monday and got to hang out and enjoy the whole process unfold. Mom and I were there for most of the day, Lance's family joined us around 4:30pm (after we'd been kicked out of the delivery suite), John and Kayla came after she was born, and Papa and YaYa made it so late that they had to meet her on Tuesday morning.
Baby girl is a big fan of her hands. They are going to be raw from all the time spent in her mouth!
She has already FaceTimed a few times with "Big Cousins" and I'm sure she can't wait to meet them. Bless her heart.
Welcome to the family, Minnie Cate! We're happy you're here!

big cousin signs are a must and that pic of your mom is so pretty! Hi Cacky!
Yay!! I'm so excited to meet my niece too!! Congratulations to your family!
I will start off by saying that I love reading your blog. Also, we had a "big cousin" shirt deal! My niece was three when my son was born, and that's all she wanted. We just had her one made. And I had my son a "baby cousin" shirt made as well!
Just had to share!
Congratulations to Anna Catherine and Lance. She is precious!
