Will's First Day!

Well, the second First Day of School has arrived! {Mine is tomorrow but I will spare you the back-to-school pictures of that!} Will has NOT been ready to go back to school. He is a mama's boy and he didn't want to promote away from his teacher from last year that he is in LOVE with. ;) I was a little nervous about how the day would go, especially after I had to pry him off of me at Sunday School yesterday kicking and screaming.

We got up this morning and sent a VERY unhappy James off to school {seriously hoping ALL Mondays are not like the first two Mondays have been!} and then Will and I were on our own to get ready. I think that made things work better. The big boys left and I got ready, helped him brush his teeth and get dressed, and we talked about who would be in his class this year. He had forgotten that his two best buddies are in his room and he was especially excited to see one of them. "Can we wrestle?" Umm, no. "Can I jump over B's head?" Umm, no. "Can we chase each other around?" Ummm, on the playground only. Lol!

After we went outside to take pictures we stopped by Daddy's office to pick him up. This is a BIG deal. Eddie hasn't ever gone with me on their first days of preschool. But what you do for one, you have to do for the other! ;) We arrived at school around 8:45 and he walked right in, put his stuff in his cubby, and immediately set to work on his painting for the day. This class reads The Kissing Hand on the first day of school so they put heart stickers on their palm, paint over them, pull them off, and stamp their hands. If you haven't read the book, it is one of my favorites for back-to-school. Eddie and I told him goodbye and he didn't even bat an eye! We are SO STINKIN' EXCITED about this class. This is the one James was in when we moved two years ago and Sonny died right at the beginning of the year. They were EXCELLENT in helping James transition with all of the other stuff that was going on at the same time. It could've been a tough year. Will needs firm, but loving and they are just that. I cannot WAIT to see him grow this year!

And just to compare, here is James almost exactly two years ago:

And Will almost exactly two years ago...

When I picked him up he had THREE stamps on his hand {the best he can get!} and had a report that he had a great day! He said it was fun, they played on the big boy playground, and he was WIRED. Hoping every day he is as good as today!

So precious. I use stamps in my classroom for CBS too. The kids love it and it lets the parents know how they are doing.
