Today's message at church was on fathers blessing their children.
I noticed Eddie write down all the main points, but I have to say that he's already doing a fantastic job at being a father who blesses his kids.
One of the ways to bless your children is by meaningful touch. Eddie is a very hands-on daddy who hugs and kisses and wrestles James and Will (although Will is not a wrestler yet...) all. the. time. They head butt. The push. The nuzzle up to one another. Sometimes this drives me crazy but mostly I love it. And it's such a blessing that my boys have a daddy who will engage them that way.
Another way is to pray out loud FOR your child. Have you child hear his daddy pray his name. To know, really, that he is asking the Lord to watch over and guide his son. Eddie is such a great leader in our home. I can't wait to watch the boys grow to be like him.
And to SAY to your children that you are proud of them. That you love them. That you are blessed to be their parent and to watch them grow. Even in all of the two year old drama, Eddie finds the positive and is encouraging with James.
I pray that my boys know how much their daddy loves them. He is absolutely crazy about them. And they love him back SO much.
I do think, though, that the best gift they could give him would be a full night's sleep. :)
Happy Father's Day to ALL the daddies.

I have never, never, never thought that they looked alike...until I saw these pictures today. And they both look so much like Eddie here to me! Stinkers. Good thing I like that man! :)
