Getting in the Spirit...

*** Dear Grandparents, Feel free to skip this post as it has nothing to do with your grandchildren. My feelings won't be hurt. Maybe I'll have pictures of James tomorrow. ***

I am more excited about Christmas than I have been in a long time! I just know it's going to be a great one since James is old enough to sort of get what's going on now. Not to mention, the past two have been TOUGH for us with various family crisises and I'm prayerfully optimistic that this year will be uneventful. Oh, I hope so!

I've mentioned before that Eddie wants nothing to do with Christmas before Thanksgiving. I get it, I really do. BUT...I'm just so excited that I can't help myself! James and I have been listening to the Christmas station on Pandora, I've been doing lots and lots of Christmas shopping, I've started a little Christmas party planning, and I've made a list of what I want to decorate and how this year. I am IN THE SPIRIT!

My plan is to begin our decorating when we arrive home after Thanksgiving. We'll probably put the tree up and the topiaries out that Sunday afternoon. From there, it will be hit or miss decorating while my little "helper" is at school or in bed. I have to be finished with everything by December 6th since I'm hosting a party at my home. Yikes! Talk about pressure!

Here are a few of my Pinterest ideas for the season:

The doorway above is a little more than I want, but I love the red/burlap combination!

I have a dome just like this from Willow House and have waited all year to be able to put ornaments in it! LOVE!

Gorgeous garland! I love those bigger lights strung in it. I haven't ever put lights in ours before.

Again, a little over-the-top but I love the ribbons and colors and the stuff at the top. It's fun!
