First, are we calling this year two thousand ten? Or twenty ten? It's throwing me off a little.
We spent the year at Lake Blackshear for the 3rd Annual Dinner Club Shindig. We had LOTS of food and even more fun! We played Taboo, tried to stay quiet so we wouldn't wake up James, started a new tradition for the boys (perhaps? two of them, anyway!), and just enjoyed spending time with friends. Thanks to all who came! It was the first time all five couples all got together for New Year's Eve!
Unfortunately, we're both ready to get rid of the Christmas decorations. I think we're saying "Good Riddance" to this season since it turned out to be so sad. I hate that we didn't really even celebrate the REAL reason for the season since the mood was changed so abruptly. Anyway, we're ready to get rid of the decorations!
The SAD part around our house today is that I'm also cleaning out The Boy's closet. It's time to pull out 0-3 month clothes and his holiday clothes. I was holding up all of his tiny little outfits and I'm so sad that he's so big already!!! I know next year and for the next 100 years I'll feel the same way. My little boy is getting too big too quickly!
New Year's Resolutions? Last year I made the typical eat less, exercise more resolution. That "lose weight" idea went right out the window a month later when I found out I was pregnant! I've lost all of my pregnancy weight, but would also like to lose an additional 15 pounds. Let's see if I can make that happen! Along with that we need to exercise a LOT more. We're wiped out at the end of the day and just want to sit around. I got resistance bands for Christmas, a Mommy/Baby exercise DVD, and ordered Wii Fit Plus and Biggest Loser for Wii. Hopefully I'll be able to get my out-of-shape self in better working order SOON!
My only other New Year's Resolution is to get the house under control. When James naps, I want to sit down and not do anything. I've got to start using my time more wisely. Especially because he'll be napping less and less and becoming more and more mobile!
Here's to hoping that 2010 is a MUCH less uneventful, but equally wonderful year! 2009 was such a blessing! We'd like less drama (good or bad!) and more time to relax and enjoy the time that we have!
