A Swanky Affair...

Eddie and I had the most wonderful Athens weekend (aside from Lance's bought with a stomach virus on Sunday - cross your fingers no one else gets it!). We left Friday evening and got to Athens right around 8. We met Anna and Lance at Johnny's Pizza and had awesome calzones and strombolis. Afterwards, we went to Anna's apartment and watched some TV before heading to bed.
On Saturday morning we got up and met Mom and Sonny for brunch. We ate at the Five Star Day Cafe'. I had Mom's side of cheddar grits (and a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks!) but everyone's omelet's looked de-lish!
After we ate brunch, Eddie and I took a quick driving tour around Athens to see how much had changed since I've lived there. It's funny how many times that I said "That wasn't there when I was here!" this weekend. If I had a dollar.... After we drove around, we met Eddie's college friend Chris Meadows and his wife, Amy, for lunch (eating again!) at Loco's. We spent around two hours catching up with them and enjoying their company. They are some of the funniest, sweetest people that we know and I always enjoy the chance to get together with them. Amy is, by far, one of the most friendly, down-to-earth people that I've ever met. You can meet her and a minute later feel like you've known her since elementary school!
Later that evening we headed out for the wedding. I wasn't as cold as I thought I would be and the weather was beautiful. Plus, the wedding itself was just fantastic so I didn't mind! Mary Beth and Dutch got married at First United Methodist Church. Their wedding was just perfect!
The reception later on was at the Classic Center. It, too, was beautiful and FUN! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
MB - everything was wonderful! We enjoyed ourselves immensely! I can't wait to see you and Dutch again soon! We'll miss you this year but we'll induct Dutch next Christmas! Love you!

I wish that you all could see the chaos it took to get the above picture...those people are ridiculous! (And they taught all of us how to listen to instructions!)

Will is a dancing machine! I don't think that kid left the dance floor all night!

Rachel...I mean Brennan Kennedy...is my new favorite person. Button check!

So much fun to see my old roomies again!

On Sunday we woke up to a sick little Lance. I think he either had food poisoning (which is what I'M hoping...) or a stomach virus. Either way, the kid was feeling terrible! We got out of Anna's apartment as soon as we could so we wouldn't bother him. It was great to leave so early, though, because we were back home by lunch. Oh, how I love living closer to Athens! I think another trip is due before two years have passed! I miss that place!
