New Year's Eve & New Year's Day.

Can I remember wayyyyy back almost two weeks ago? Let's see...

A few weeks back I mentioned to Eddie that I would be totally happy staying home and hanging out with our boys on New Year's Eve. James was completely confused about waking up and it being a new year, but was entirely excited about the potential for a fire in the fire pit, s'mores, and sparklers. So that's what we did!

Cacky came by for a bit before she went to eat dinner with some friends at the lake. Then the boys headed to Grandmama's house while I fixed chili and rice for supper. Yum! It wasn't terribly cold, but it was cool, so chili was the perfect thing!

The boys took a bath and headed to bed and Eddie proceeded to fall asleep on the sofa. I read and watched a little bit of the countdown. We were in bed and almost asleep when we watched the ball drop in New York. Yea! That's a great New Year's Eve - asleep {relatively!} early!

New Year's Day the boys went to Cacky's house to play for a bit. I made dinner - boston butt in the crockpot, hoppin' john, and chocolate pretzel pie. Mom brought over greens and brown rice. Anna and Lance, unfortunately, wound up being in town for a funeral so they got to eat with us as well. My meat and hoppin' john weren't as good as I'd hoped so that was a little bit disappointing. Oh well! I'll try again next year!
