March and April Books...

I fell off the Book Bloggin' Wagon last month. By the time I'd finished up the books I was working on in March I was well into April so I just skipped it. There aren't too many that are REALLY fun reads (I feel like I've been a little BUSY!), but I'm posting them anyway in case y'all are interested. (Bridgett? You're taking notes, right?)

The ones y'all are all interested in - Hardy Boys #23, 25, 27, and 28. I have no excuses except that I started the series so I'm going to finish. (The reason I skip some is because I'm only reading the ones that we own. I am not about to go and buy or check out the others.)

Reading through the Bible in a year - I read Genesis, Exodus, Matthew, and Mark.

Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp. I cannot recommend this book enough. It will be one that I read over and over and over. I have the Kindle version and I liked it so much that I bought Eddie the paperback for Easter. I don't think I was too incredibly out there in my parenting style, but it did convict and correct the way I had been doing a few different things. I get SO frustrated SO easily with James and this book made me step back from that and re-direct the way that I parent. Whew! It's a great book!

The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern. This book was INCREDIBLE. It was a Book Club read and I'm so glad that it was! I'm not sure I would've ever gotten around to it. The plot revolves around a few different things, but mainly it is about two people who are real magicians (not illusionists) and they have a battle under the guise of building and creating a circus. The duel takes a turn when the two meet one another. The description and the imagination that went into writing this book are amazing. It's been bought to become a movie and although it's NOT a Tim Burton movie, it very well could be! It's weird and fanciful. I really enjoyed the story! After discussing it, though, I feel like I need to re-read to pick up on things that I missed!

As always, I have a bajillion books going at  once. Currently on my bedside table: Fifty Shades of Grey (I won't discuss this one much, but I'm about 85% of the way finished with it and I'm completely unimpressed), Leviticus, Luke, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Secret Lives of Dresses, The Lucky One, and Loving the Little Years.

Ha! I always read the first part in case there is something about those sweet babies... So, halfway listening! :)
