When I started this I typed "James at TWENTY months" as the title. Umm...I can't even believe it's been fourteen months, much less TWENTY! Yikes!
* James is TOTALLY weaned. We have not nursed since the Saturday after Thanksgiving. He has a bottle at night, a bottle first thing in the morning, and a couple of sippies of milk or juice (water) during the day. It was SO much less of a challenge than I thought it would be!
* He loves to try whatever we're eating. His favorite breakfast currently is applesauce and string cheese. He usually eats purees a few times a day, snacks like Goldfish or Cheerios a few times a day, and bites of our food a few times a day.
* He can say baby, uh oh, diaper, hey, bye, mama, daddy (DD!), Cacky (what mama goes by but sounds like KiKi), Papa (Bapa), Poppy, and LaLa (Laura but it sounds like YaYa). He tries to say everything that we say but it usually comes out sounding a lot like "baby!"
* He knows what a dog says and what a fish says.
* He knows what a dog says and what a fish says.
* If he wants to see something he points to the object and himself and says "Me!"
* He still LOVES to play in the bathtub.
* He's taking more and more steps now. Saturday he finally decided it would be a good day to walk, let go, and he hasn't looked back! Thank goodness! (I'd secretly been a little worried about him!) He's doing the "Frankenstein." He's still definitely mostly crawling, but he CAN walk lots of steps at a time. He looks a little like Bambi when he learns to walk! He also wound up with his first injury last night. He has a pretty little swollen lip from falling right onto his face!
* He likes to snap his fingers. It really just looks like the sign for milk.
* He loves to throw things on the floor and yell "Uh oh!"
* He has started throwing tantrums. I know we're probably entering some fun but challeging months. He does the full-on head thrown back, arched back, screaming fits lately when he doesn't get his way.
* He isn't a huge fan of riding in the car anymore. We have to plan long trips around naps. He just screams while we're riding in the car running errands but he's happy as a lark when he gets out.
* He calls the phone "Bye bye!"
* I'm going to regret saying this, but since he's stopped nursing he sleeps SO much better. He usually goes to bed between 8:30 and 9 and gets up between 8:30 and 9. I love this so much.
* He's more fun and more work lately! I can't turn my head for a SECOND. But he's happy (almost always) and loves to play, tickle, and read. We're enjoying all of it!
