Eddie, James, and I have been busy little bees this week! We put off Christmas shopping until super late this year, much to my dismay. I may do all of my 2011 shopping in JANUARY because this has made me so crazy. I haven't been able to do things I've wanted to do, like baking and taking gifts to neighbors and church friends.
Monday after Eddie got off work we made a trip to Toys 'R Us. We don't have a clue what to get James this year so we just sort of wandered around. We're also buying for some friends' kids and several children through Eddie's office and our Sunday School class. Unfortunately, we didn't find much. Toys 'R Us is overwhelming! We'll be back there another night this week.
We also had to go to WalMart. It's one of my least favorite places in the whole world. We got LOTS of our shopping done while we were there, though, but we had an ill little boy with us who was ready to go home, have supper, and get to bed! We didn't get it all done, but we did get a lot!
I spent the evening wrapping, wrapping, wrapping and our tree finally has a few gifts underneath it!
Tuesday afternoon Mom came up so that she could do some shopping and pick John up. She got James a few things that were on his Christmas list (I covered his eyes while she picked them out and paid for them), I got James a Christmas outfit, and she got Anna, Lance, and Eddie a few things. Overall, I think it was semi-successful for her. Hope we didn't wear her out!
John was headed to Tifton so that he can have the pin removed from his elbow on Thursday. More surgery! He put his truck in the shop while he'll be in Tifton so Laura brought him to our house to meet Mom. Laura stayed for supper with us last night so we had Mellow Mushroom. Delicious!
Wednesday James and I spent the day around the house doing a little picking up and cleaning. When Eddie got home we ran a few errands - Target, Hobby Lobby, and Publix. James was better on this trip. We fed him beforehand! We finished up shopping for the other families we're buying for and got a few of our own family members covered as well. My goal is to be DONE by Sunday afternoon so that I can spend Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday wrapping, packing, and cleaning!
Today James and I are headed to meet a friend for lunch and to maybe get a few more gifts. It's going to be fun for sure!
Hope you have all of your shopping done! Enjoy the rest of your week!
