Book Club!

I did it! I'm able to strike it off of my list of goals! I joined a book club last night!

A church friend asked me back around the time that school started if I would be interested in joining her book club. She sent me the book that they were reading but I didn't get it in time. After their meeting, she sent the group (including me) a message telling what the next book would be - The Glass Castle. I happened to have it on my bookshelf because Grandmommie let me borrow her copy about three years ago (sorry Grandmommie! I'll bring it at Thanksgiving!). I read it, loved it, and joined the ladies last night!

I was shocked and excited about how welcomed I was into the group. The hostess hugged me when my friend introduced me. I was sort of just pulled in no-questions-asked! There were only seven of us there last night but the discussion was easy and we moved from one topic in the book to the next. (If you've read the book, you understand that you could seriously discuss it all night long!) One thing I liked about the group was that there was some chitchat, but once they got down to business they only discussed the book. Afterwards we sat around and had some more small-talk, but it wasn't that way the entire time. I had a great time getting out and I think I'm going to enjoy getting to know them!

The next book pick is Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen. This is one that has been suggested to me but I haven't started it yet. I can't wait to finish my other two that I have going now so that I can begin this one! (One of my other two is taking me so long that I'm not allowing myself to pick up any more!)

Hope you're reading something! Tell me what it is!

I want to join you book club! I'm re-reading the last Harry Potter (which, by the way, I believe that copy belongs to you. Sorry!). Do you want to go on a date with me to see the movie when it comes out?

Loved Glass Castle and yes, it's one you could discuss for hours and then come back to discuss again.

Water for Elephants. Love it, too. You should check out the behind-the-scenes for Sara Gruen's new book, too.
