James turned NINE months last week while we were at VBS.
I have a LOT of pictures for this post today because it is hilarious to me how difficult it has become to photograph him. Ridiculous.
I cannot believe that James has been here now as long as he was in my belly. Wow. Time has flown by. In three short months he will be ONE.
At nine months, James...
* Weighs 20 pounds, 13.5 ounces - just 11.5 ounces more than at six months. All of those people who laughed at how much he weighed haven't said much in a while. Dr. W. was so shocked today that he re-weighed James himself!
* is 28.25 inches in length. Again, he's only grown 1/4 of an inch in three months! Amazingly, and for the first time ever, we're under the 75%-ile. Usually we're in the 95th!
* James has a great schedule now that got tossed out the window for VBS this week. Typically, he wakes up sometime between 5 and 6:30. I nurse him and he goes back to sleep for an hour or so. He eats babyfood at 9, nurses at 10, naps after he nurses, has babyfood at 1, nurses at 2, naps after he nurses, has babyfood at 5, takes a bath at 7, nurses at 7:30, and goes to bed at 8.
* He is still in a size 3 diaper!!!
* He still sleeps with his pacifier and wubbie.
* He's pretty happy during the day. He's usually only a grump if he's hungry or sleepy. If we're out and about he's a very happy camper. He likes to be outside and he likes to be on the go. He does, however, have a short fuse. If he wants something he wants it now. If we take something away that he was playing with he flips out. He is bossy and demanding and I have no idea where he got it from. He is already a typical oldest child. We are in for it when he's a teenager.
*He has six teeth - four on top and two on the bottom.
(The above picture did not hurt him. In fact, he thinks it's hilarious.)
* He still likes bathtime but has become dangerous. He likes to try to stand in the bathtub.
* He still babbles a lot. The "b" sound is the sound of choice these days. He can say "Mama," "more," and "bye-bye."
* He has gone from not doing any pushing up at all at six months to crawling at seven months to standing at eight months and cruising now! It's crazy. We catch him trying to climb onto the coffee table all the time!
We get compliments all the time about how friendly and well-behaved he is. We are SO thankful for this and pray, pray, pray that this behavior continues for the rest of his life.
