Am I the only person who thinks it takes twice as long as the vacation as it does to recover and get back into a routine? I feel like we'll never get back on a schedule, the house won't get cleaned, and I won't get caught up on pictures anytime soon!
We had a fun, but very laid-back, Father's Day! Church this morning, then Cracker Barrel for lunch, followed by a quick trip to Wal-Mart. The rest of the afternoon was spent napping, reading, chasing a ball around the house, and flipping between the Braves game and the U.S. Open. Ahh...a perfect Father's Day!
Pictures to come (again, I'm way behind!) but Eddie got books from James (really for him to read to James) and a new golf bag and golf shoes last weekend. He'll also get new lawn mower blades (exciting, huh?) soon. I bought tickets to the minor league baseball team's season opener but we decided to go to a friend's surprise birthday party and then wound up not going to either!
James turned EIGHT months old today. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of him since I stripped him down for some blueberries this afternoon.
Funny story - while we were eating at Cracker Barrell today Eddie walked out to the car to find a pacifier for our chatty baby. The food came and I was trying to wrangle James back into his high chair and keep his hands out of all of the food. He started SCREAMING. Not in an upset way, but in a "GIVE ME A BISCUIT!" way. I had to feed him half of my meal to keep him quiet!!! He loves biscuits and apparently chicken 'n dumplins, too! Ha! He also had to "sip" my Diet Coke - he never did get any to come up the straw. He thinks he is too big. I've ordered a few babyfood recipe books to start trying to feed less Gerber and more of what we're eating.
I promise to try to get back into the swing of things SOON!
