Appliances, Bronchitis, and Stouffer's Lasagna! Oh My!

Well this has certainly been QUITE the week! And it's only Tuesday!

Last Wednesday I woke up with a sore throat. No biggie. We'd been sleeping with the windows open and it had been cool outside. Or it could've been my allergies. Right? WRONG. By Saturday my sore throat had gotten worse and I'd developed a cough as well. We went to Tifton on Friday and my mama INSISTED that I visit the emergency care clinic when we got back into Kathleen. Ok, ok...fine. But only to make her happy. However, when I woke up on Monday morning I felt HORRIBLE. I didn't think I was going to make it through the day. Not only did I have a sore throat and a cough, I had a horrible headache and felt nauseous. I KNEW what was wrong. It happens about twice a year. Awesome. Bronchitis.

I headed over to the doctor on Monday afternoon. I was feeling so terrible that I left RIGHT after school. I literally got out of the parking lot before the kids were even in their cars (which is just as well because they're TERRIBLE drivers and they scare me!). I went to see Dr. Hathcox on my way home and he's my new hero. He confirmed my suspicions and sent me on my way with three different kinds of medicines - an antibiotic (NOT a Z-Pack which I'm VERY used to - thanks, Affinity!), Tussin for my cough (do you know how expensive that medicine is?!?!), and Prednisone. I woke up this morning after one antibiotic yesterday and I felt 75% better. Tonight, after two antibiotics, two doses of Tussin, and a steroid and I feel 100% better. It's amazing. Thank you, Dr. Hathcox. You're my hero!

Another exciting thing that happened yesterday was the instillation of my stove and microwave that have been sitting in my kitchen since last Thursday. They are looking excellent, if I do say so myself. I'm SO pleased. On Thursday we'll pick up our dishwasher from Lowe's and will hopefully have counter tops by the end of October. Yes, I know...that's taken a good bit longer than I thought that it would. Oh well.

Tonight, because I had my new stove, I made...Stouffer's Lasagna, a salad-in-a-bag, and warmed-up sourdough bread. De-lish. Ok, ok...I know I promised more cooking, but we're working with nasty counter tops (and I don't mean in color...they're DIRTY from all the working...and I can't keep up with it!) and plastic utensils. Hopefully once the painting of the cabinets is finished I'll be able to wash and put away dishes, etc. Still, very exciting!

Dinner Club is coming this weekend for the fair and concert. I can't WAIT to see my long-lost friends! AND next Wednesday Eddie and I are leaving for Myrtle Beach for Fall Break! Yippee! So much fun happening soon!
