Welcome, 2022!

Ohhhh...a fresh new start! Anyone else love the beginning of things? I'm really awesome at STARTING lots of things, but not so great at the follow-through part. HA! The boys and I sat down and listed out some goals we have for ourselves this year. Eddie said he was still thinking about his, but I thought I'd share ours so that MAYBE we can follow up on them later!

Lauren:

Travel more! When the pandemic hit, it sort of shut me down. I've been really trying to take charge of my anxiety (illness/crowds/etc. are HUGE things for me and have been since before the C-word) and I want to get out and GO instead of being worried something will happen to us. (If you haven't experience anxiety, bless you. It can be debilitating!) I'm wanting to do a little moving and shaking in the near future!

1,000 hours outside! I am not outdoorsy. At. All. I know the benefits of spending time outside, though (see anxiety comments above! HA!) and I do want to get outside more often! I downloaded the 1,000 Hours Outside app...now I just need to remember to use it. I was on minute 52 of a walk outside this morning before I remembered to push start!

Goal of 10K steps each day. I usually say I want to lose weight. Nope! Not this year. I just want to be more active. 10K is totally do-able! Move!

Drink more water. No explanation needed!

Read 100 books. I read 63 books last year and I could've done more! I need to put down my phone and turn off the TV and read. While sitting outside or walking with headphones.

$10,000 in Usborne sales! Sharing reading is SUCH a huge part of my life. We read and read and read around here and I want to help others do the same. We just wrapped up a book drive and it was SO INCREDIBLE to give 1500 books to children that don't have their own. I want to keep that going! That was amazing!

Cook/eat at home more often. When we moved this year we fell into a rut that was already pretty deep. Cooking and eating at home haven't been priorities since I started working way more often and the boys got into busier schedules. I'm going to work hard on this one!

Blog more. I miss being in this space. I miss sharing. Mostly, I'm worried about all of the things I'm not documenting!

James:

Get stronger! I need to measure and weigh them both today. He's made some gains in muscle since he started swim and he'd like to keep working at that!

Visit a new state. We think this might be Tennessee, but we haven't planned anything yet!

Eat healthy. HA! Hopefully I'll be able to assist with this. He DID discover yesterday that he loves cabbage!

Will:

Read the whole I Survived series. He'll be able to complete this goal in about a week.

Improve in Jiu Jitsu - move up to a gray belt. We suggested this one. I think he will be able to do it! He's enjoyed this martial arts class SO MUCH.

Happy New Year, y'all!
