Blessings.

We went through a period of time at lunch and dinner where James didn't want to say the blessing anymore. I can't say that I blamed him. They weren't all that original. We bounced between God Is Great, God Our Father (the sing-song blessing), and a blessing that Eddie uses as his old stand-by. We've worked more on real prayers at bedtime. But he was just downright ugly about not saying the blessing.

In an effort to change up the routine AND to enable James to take a more active role in his church-going experience, we've added a few of the things we do at church to our blessing routine. Lately, he's been learning the Doxolgy, the Gloria Patri, the Apostle's Creed, and the Lord's Prayer. Two down, two to go!

Actual words:
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise God all creatures here below (he only sings this when we sing it with him)
Alleluia, alleluia
Praise God the source of all our gifts
Praise Jesus Christ whose power uplifts
Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

Actual words:
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end
Amen, amen.

Also, THIS post is a perfect description of how I felt last week. Perfect. If you're in the throes of motherhood, take a look.
