I promise that some of the things that we're doing around here aren't things that everyone else is doing. ;) One of my FAVORITE things is books. I'm a collector of books, I taught English for a bit, I was the kid with my nose in a book ALL the time...I love books. So it goes without saying that I love Christmas books!
I've had quite the collection of books for several years but last year I saw several other blog ladies wrap the books up for their kiddos and let them open one new one each night. We decided to do that this year and the anticipation is SUPER fun.
Here are some of our favorites...
Classics:
* Santa's Toy Shop
* Cajun Night Before Christmas (Illustrated by James Rice - I love all of these!)
* The Wild Christmas Reindeer by Jan Brett (be forewarned - this one contains other reindeer names...there weren't questions from James but I was surprised!) (Also, ANYTHING by Jan Brett is a favorite of mine!)
* 'Twas the Night Before Christmas
* Polar Express
* How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Religious:* Santa's Birthday Gift (this is sweet, but it's a bit of a stretch pulling Jesus and Santa together...not the best job I've seen)
* The Littlest Christmas Tree
* Follow the Star
* Christmas in the Manger
* The Legend of the Christmas Stocking
Santa/Rudolph:
* The Littlest Reindeer
* Hurry, Santa, Hurry!
For Fun:
* Disney Christmas Storybook Collection
* Mickey Saves Santa
* 12 Dogs for Christmas
* Merry Christmas, Little Critter!
* Gingerbread Pirates (This one is pretty silly, but James likes it!)
We have lots more that we love and lots on our "Christmas Book Wish List!"
