I held off on doing this post until today because we had our 20 week ultrasound today.
Last weekend I had horrible back pain - like I'd pulled a muscle. Then, my stomach was really feeling funny - not quite like contractions, just funny. I jokingly mentioned that maybe I was having "growing pains." Then, after seeing this picture taken Saturday night, I realized I was probably right. I'm including the 19 week and 20 week pictures for comparison!
Aside from having a MUCH better hair day, Baby Brother did some major growing and it appears that he's moved up into my ribs. Maybe it's just the dress, but I feel like I look WAY bigger than just a week ago!
Size of the Baby: Small Cantelope
Total Weight Loss/Gain: +1 pound
Maternity Clothes: For the most part, I’m in them…but only for comfort. Lots of dresses!
Gender: Another boy!
Movement: Yes! Eddie still hasn’t felt him move. He stops when anyone else comes close to me.
Cravings: I finally feel SO MUCH better. I’m not craving anything (except lots of sugar…not good) but I’m finally eating again. Still a few aversions, but much better than before.
Symptoms: The nausea is almost totally gone but it’s been replaced by those mean, second trimester headaches.
Sleep: Still ok. I’m getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but I’ve been going back to sleep. I’m having some trouble falling asleep. And, of course, staying asleep would be easier if someone didn’t wake up all the time during the night!
What I Miss: Hmm…not much.
Best Moment This Week: Stronger kicks!
We got to see Baby Brother again this afternoon for my 20 week checkup. Cacky came to play with James while I went - THANK GOODNESS! It wound up being a lonnnnnng appointment.
First, we went back to see the ultrasound tech who gave him a thorough look. She measured and looked at lots and lots of angles and looked at organs and counted fingers and toes (not really, but it was that precise!). We learned lots about Baby Brother today! Number one, he is HEALTHY. Number two, he is still just ONE baby. Number three, he is still a HE. :) Everything looked great and measured right in place. He weighs 12 ounces today. With his measurements he was right around the 30th-percentile for head circumference and height. His tummy, however, measured in the 64th-percentile. Ha! Another short, chubby baby.

I didn't see the doctors today, but saw a Nurse Midwife instead. My two questions were: Do we all need flu shots? and Can I eat cheese dip at Mexican restaurants? Both answers were yes.
Baby Brother looked happy and healthy and entertained us by dancing and doing yoga. (It was that Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino.) He kicked and punched and showed off. Sadly, it's the last time we'll see him until we're holding him. We're not planning to do the 3D/4D ultrasound this time. Hopefully he'll continue to grow and thrive!
