Recipe of the Week: Angel Food Cake Trifle

I've posted my sweet friend MaraDare's Brownie Trifle before, found HERE. Last week when I hosted Book Club, I whipped up a new recipe based on the Brownie Trifle for those of you who don't like chocolate. (Seriously? Are there really people who don't like chocolate?) It got two thumbs up from those eating it and the bowl that I had was quite tasty. Thought I'd share it today!

Ingredients:
* Store-bought angel food cake
* Large box of instant vanilla pudding
* Strawberries, washed and cut
* Blueberries, washed
* 2 boxes of cream cheese, softened
* 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
* 2 cups Cool Whip, thawed

1. Make pudding according to package directions. Put into refrigerator.
2. Wash and cut fruit and set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and Cool Whip until smooth. Set aside.
4. Pull off small pieces of angel food cake and layer in the bottom of a trifle dish.
5. Put half of the fruit on top of the angel food cake.
6. Top fruit with half of the pudding.
7. Top pudding with half of the cream cheese mixture. (It can be tricky not to "lift" the pudding and other ingredients because the cream cheese mixture is so thick. I place several dollops around and smooth those into one another.)
8. Repeat layers again. Top with strawberries and blueberries if you wish!

Enjoy!
