We don't have preschool yet, or after-school activities, or church groups, or anything and already I feel like we are busy, busy, busy all the time. Where does the time in my day go? Whew!
On Saturday afternoon we had 3 of the other 4 families in our Dinner Club up for the Rodeo in Perry. Eddie and I have gone the past two years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Boy, was this year DIFFERENT! Ha! We decided to take the "babies" with us. There were 8 adults and 6 children (under 6!) in our group. Hilarious! The funniest thing is that you have to buy a ticket for any child over 2...so we bought 4 tickets for kiddos. Only ONE child actually sat in his or her seat! At one point, I looked up and Amy was holding Lily, Chuck was holding Elli AND Charlie, I was holding James, and Cal was holding Grayson Anne. Jobe was the only child in a seat! So funny...
Other "funnies" from the rodeo:
* James HATED it. We got there right at "feeding time" but he didn't want a bottle (too bad, since he's not a discreet nurser and I'm terribly modest!) and it was too loud for him to concentrate. Eddie had to take him under the stands to feed him! When he got back, James was sleepy and thus SCREAMED at every loud noise. He behaved better after a short nap.
* Jobe climbed up to Eddie's seat (so there goes the child's seat! Eddie sat on the stairs!) and asked to hold James. He's a fantastic big brother who holds a baby like he's been doing it his whole life (he probably has). He looked at me at one point and said (completely seriously) "You know, if you're quick enough, you can throw your baby up in the air and catch him before he hits the floor." I laughed and laughed and laughed. Of course, I know exactly what he's talking about, but it was so funny coming out of his serious little mouth!
* Jelks took Elli and Jobe to buy cowboy hats...much to the dismay of the other parents who realized they were going to have to shell out money as well. Chuck took Charlie to pick out his hat and he came back with DEVIL HORNS. Flashing red devil horns. Again, we laughed and laughed.
I didn't take many pictures, since I was holding a screaming child and all, but here are the ones that I did get:
