Loop the Lake

It's time for the 3rd Annual Loop the Lake at Lake Blackshear! The race (you can participate in a 5k or a 1-mile Fun Run) takes place at the Retreat at Lake Blackshear on July 18th.

I'm not sure about how it's been done in the past, but this year the proceeds go to benefit both Ruth's Cottage AND Graceway. Ruth's Cottage, in Tifton, is devoted to ending abuse of women and children. They are advocates and support for the women that come to them. Graceway is a drug and alcohol abuse recovery residence. It is a faith-based facility for women who are undergoing treatment. It is a FANTASTIC place that has really wonderful people. What a great cause!

I'm not sure if we'll be out in the heat of the day, but I wanted to pass it along to those of you who MAY be able to run. I'm definitely going to try for next year, though!
